It has been a long time since I have posted, and I mean a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time. But here I am defying the world by posting once again! Lots and lots of things have changed since I last posted. (Not just the weather) For instance, I am now on the Bedford High soccer team, and taking a few classes there. The classes at Bedford are going well and Bedford had a good starting soccer season. Mind you when I say good I mean that we improved much through our season of playing players four years older than us. I even tied with a bunch of players for top scorer! Two of the fam are now gone which makes a HUGE difference. I think it is a conspiracy! I have an odd feeling that in two years yet another sib will leave. And then there were five...... :). The ice has not been good at all! I hope we can skate some in late January. I must finish a paper so ttfn!

I have a really big soccer game on Saturday. Why is it so big you may ask? Because it is the battle to see who is the WORST team in the league. I gave up my hopes of being the best team in the league a while ago but now i am hanging on to the hope that we can be better than the worst team. Now that I have told you all about my soccer hopes and dreams etc. I will talk about something besides soccer. ("Finally!" screams the crowd.) In formal conversations it is polite to talk about the weather. Even though that is irrelevant guess what i am going to talk about? *drum roll* ................. the weather! Spring is almost here! ( I would say it IS here if it hadn't snowed today. Here are some good facts for why it is so awesome spring is almost here for all you winter fans. :)

AAGGHH! Woe is me!I i cant think of anything clever to post! I have no extremely witty post to write (like i usually do ;) ) no post that doubles people over in laughter. *sniff* Oh well . My life has been pretty bleh. "Then why are you writing a blog post?" you may ask. Good question. Aha! I thought of something interesting that I have done in the past two weeks ...... I touched sheep eyeballs for the first time! They were very squishy. Ya, I know it is a little gross. Hmmm what else is new? I got a shiny new hatchet!Is that cool or what? My indoor soccer team lost our first playoff game in penalty kicks (again). :) whoops i mean :(. It was actually not that depressing since last season we got to the quarter finals.:) The snow is perfect for snowballs! :) The pond is a mess of slush though.:(

You'll never guess who came to our back yard today! Never in a million years...no, a billion years. (I guess that's pushing it a little...) Anyway, I'll give you a couple hints: first, it was a VIP from Hystricomorphaville!!! He seemed to enjoy his stay, but after we got too close and he got out of his comfort zone, he headed off to the neighbors'. Nevertheless, he certainly gave the impression that he liked our evergreens, considering he didn't stop chewing on them even when we were only a few feet away. That's Mr. Porcupine for you!

Ooops! I can't believe it! I just gave it away. Forget the other hundred pages of hints I had in mind. I'm so bad at keeping secrets...

Today was great. Aaron and I went skating and had the time of our lives. Aaron is so great. Even though I was losing by a TON, he didn't yell at me once! He is so patient.

Math is so awful and I really don't like coming in after a fun time outside and having to add all those numbers. It takes forever especially that stupid multiplication. Aaron says that it gets better when you're older, though because Calculus is harder but more interesting. I think it still takes forever, but Aaron gets through it pretty well anyway. He is very smart.

How would you like to have 780,595,200,000 dollars? I would. Unfortunately this was a number from a math problem that had nothing to do with reality, it didn't even have to do with money. It was the number of square feet in 28,000 miles or something like that.

The Chestnut Hill community has a history of mistaking the gender of its pets. For example, the cat Lydia became Pippin, Jillian became Kirby, Bessie became Rascal, and Wrangler became Wrangla. I am deeply saddened by these, as the Greeks would say, λάθη. Unfortunately, I am about to add to the list of disgrace. We just found out that my dog Kate is a boy! You can imagine our shock. I'm changing his name to Kyle. And to think that we had ~~her~~ him for over a year! It really is quite shocking.

On a lighter note, we ate cheesecake on Duncan's eleventh birthday. The cheesecake was very light. Get it? Lighter note, light cheesecake? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That's a good one, isn't it?

I'll get right to the point...blah blah blah...press one for a representative." Mama has tried to get us on their "no call" list, but they just hang up when she asks. DOUBLE AARGH!!! Sometimes I feel like pressing one and saying to the person who answers "Hi, this Ryan; I'll get right to the point. WE DON'T WANT TO HEAR ANY MORE ABOUT YOUR STUPID DISH!!!!!!!!

Saints Ryan and Wesley Battle the Ferocious Xavier

Well, here's the story. On Sunday I invited Wesley over to catch the snake. I had seen it sunning in the usual spot, but when Wesely arrived, Xavier (the snake's posthumously-appointed name) was gone. We searched and searched but had no luck. Finally, we decided to wait a while and see if it would return. We went back into the woods to search for ring-necked snakes in our brush pile. This attempt failed also. I suggested we search the sides of the swamp, and Wesley and I headed in opposite directions. Suddenly, I heard Wesley shout "Ryan, I've found the snake...and it's huge!" While Wesley held it down with a hoe, I raised the croquet mallet I was carrying over my head, and....BAM! Blood splattered, and...well, on with the story.

We brought Xavier up to the house on a piece of cardboard. Aaron took quite a few pictures of us posing it and posing with it (see previous post). After staying for dinner, Wesley left.

That night, I was so excited about the snake that I had a hard time sleeping. The next morning, it was gone from it's perch on my porch. I was sure that the wind blew it over and Kate had got it, so I looked over the edge prepared to see pieces of snake everywhere. There was no snake to be seen. I searched around our lawn to see if Kate had carried it off before she chewed it up, but still I could not find it. Finally, while I was down by where the cardboard had fallen, I noticed Something under our trailer. Guess what it was?

It was a CD program I've been missing!!!

Um, actually, it was Xavier. Sorry to disappoint. : ) Relieved to find it intact, I grabbed a shovel and started pulling it toward me. Imagine my great shock when it began to STRIKE AT ME! I backed off and yelled for the kids, a little freaked out, remembering how much I had handled it the day before. I'm no ophidiophobe (I've been liking this word recently), but I don't especially like to fondle and handle big fat LIVE snakes!

Well anyway, in the end I killed it, once again. When thirteen BB gun shots in the head weren't enough to stop its "gestures of enmity" (thanks, Aaron!), Aaron and I decapitated it with a shovel. Now it lies two feet under in a nice little grave where it will never bother anyone again. Rejoice, all ye ophidiophobes! (Just not too much; Octavian is still on the loose!)

A VERY memorable event!

The Red Sox game was a big success. We had standing room tickets, but we didn't have too much trouble finding seats, especially after the first couple innings(when we were down by seven). : ( The tickets we got from Mr. L. were twice as good as I had expected: I found myself sitting about ten feet from the White Sox dugout for part of the game! (We rotated.) After the seventh inning, the two people with the adjacent seats left and gave us their tickets, so by the end we had FOUR really REALLY REALLY good seats, as well as another nine or so in the infield grandstand. As the innings wore on and we were still losing 8-1, more and more people left. At one point I was amazed at how many people were wearing red shirts until I realized they were just empty seats on the other side of the stadium. : ) Even thought the 8-1 ended up being the final score, we had an awesome time. Just being there, so close to the players, was really cool. Afterwards we got ice cream and watched a street performer doing a somersault over a half-dozen people touching their toes. : ) We drove by the Boston Commons and dropped Doug off at his apartment, and then we headed home after a really fun time.

Lately a 2' long and 2.5" wide snake has been sunning on our lower driveway almost as frequently as twice a day. It has been quite interesting to watch him. I have had a strong yearning to attempt to catch him, but I can't get myself to try. I'm hoping to get a good picture of him soon!

About a month ago I applied to be on a soccer team.The people said that there was a slight chance I would be accepted,since all the slots had been filled,but usually some of the kids would decide not to do it and drop out before it started.It is supposed to start in early September,and no word has come to say if I have gotten in.

For some reason I am obsessed with snakes. I used to avoid them as much as possible,but then something snapped inside me and BOOM I was addicted to snake catching.For me there there is almost no such thing as getting to close to a snake. Although all I have said is true I still respect snakes (especially the big ones),and the two bites I've had have made me even more wary.I know pretty well now when to keep my distance. :)

Last night I dreamed a man swore and it was taken out by TVG. I must have TVG integrated in my mind! I guess that's what watching movies with Will Smith can do to you. :)

The Story of Meemsa

A summary based on his autobiography, "A Life of Turbulence."

Meemsa was born on a cow farm in southern Pennsylvania. As he grew up there, he became very experienced in working with cows. He had one brother, whose name was Lawrence. They didn't get along very well.

When Meemsa turned eighteen, he moved to New York to start his own company, the "Choo-Choo-Moo Milk Factory." He was thrown out into the streets by his shareholders.

Meemsa wandered all throughout the United States, every once in a while gaining the support of another fanatic milk lover to help him and his factory. Soon he started acting in movies (see Cheech's profile for list), produced by his very own supporters. He wrote a few books as well, including this one. He tried later to start another factory, but was once again evicted. Hence the turbulence. He was so outraged that he gathered all his supporters and started a club called Meemsa, Inc. He has been recently gaining so much publicity that he hopes to soon open the biggest milk factory in the world. Unfortunately, publicity and capital are vastly different commodities.

If you go to Milk Road, a little lane somewhere in the middle of nowhere, and stop at the little white trailer with black spots, you will probably find Meemsa sitting in his home writing a letter to the President - a letter proposing a national milk day or a tax-free milk law. Or, who knows? he might be writing another slogan to replace his last one: "Get your milk before the cows go home." He sold a lot with that slogan.

Secrecy can be fun, but it also can be annoying! For instance, If I keep my blog secret, I have to carefully choose the subject I write about to avoid giving myself away. Then again, it is entertaining to watch people labor over finding out who I am.

Rain,Rain Dont Go Away!

I think one of the most refreshing things is rain. After lots of humidity, it's so nice to have real water in the air (as long as it's not too extreme). The obvious reason for rain being good is lush vegetation. And it's also especially nice after a HOT week. I'll end with this closing note: I love rain!

AAAaarrgghhh. After some people watch a late night movie, they drift into a peaceful sleep. That road is not for me. Whenever I watch a late-night movie, I can't sleep for hours. So as the night goes on, I'll have questions like, "But what if he did this so that she would do that?" or "Why did he do that? He could have done this!" By the time I get to sleep, I have analyzed the entire movie. Granted, it doesn't happen every time, but when it does happen it is QUITE annoying. Thankfully, today is the wonderfullest day of the week: Saturday! Thank God for the Sabbath!
